The only way to play pocket aces, and the most successful, in my opinion, is all-in before the flop.

I agree Shannon that you'd definitely like to get all your chips in preflop with aces. How to arrive at that might take more than just saying "all in" on our part though.
One good strategy is to bet large enough that players have to pay a high price to see a flop, but low enough that they can go over the top of you. Players will often not call an all in bet immediately, but if given a chance to raise, they'll happily get into a raising war that results in the same thing.
I would never limp with Aces unless the game was ultra tight. Better to win the blinds than lose my entire stack when the big blind hits two pair with 63 offsuit!

Are we taking tourney or cash games?
Tourneys definately bet hard and big.
Cash games are an entire different game. Sometimes, depending on your opponents just a call is worthwhile, remember its just a pair, but its a hand that when used deceptively can be a windfall of cash. Don't limp with it all the time though, you have to mix it up and it will help your table image as an unpredictable player. Be ready to junk this hand post flop with some stiff betting from mutliple players.

i like to raise three to four times the size of the bb with my aces...enough that it hurts for a caller but not enough to keep a reasonable hand from calling...i think the goal with aces should be to make them pay. I never limp with the fear of letting the weaker hands hit, but i will deviate how i play the hand after the flop, also, sometimes i will only raise the minimum. Just to try to play it differantly and not always seem so predictable.
