If the obvious intent of the original post (discussion starter) flies over your head, maybe you should consider moving to a more dumbed down game yourself. Either you're just trying to be an a$$ or your IQ ranks right up there with your shirt size.
Finally, if you have to start a post with "not being rude" then know that you probably are being rude and just hit the cancel button. |

well obviously low pocket pairs arent the best to be in with, Id even tell you to fold them if your are beside the button or first act, But if you can get a read on others, like being big blind and they limp in, a good raise would most likely push them out, you should never however go all in with them unless your very short stacked.

First of all, I agree with graven29...just cause you've lost with it before doesn't mean you should fold it. I went through a streak where I lost with my rockets more than I won with them. You still have to play them, otherwise you're really just throwing away money.
7's through 10's I tend to either limp in and hope for a set or make a raise and hope for a low flop. You can't fall in love with pocket pairs though, you have to be ready to throw them away.

Sorry I can't edit (said its been too long since the post or something), I just wanted to add that in heads up pocket pairs become all the better.
For example pocket 2's is basically a coin flip in heads up, and it just gets better from there...because hand values go up with less people at the table.

middle pairs are only good if u can see it for a cheap flop, most people like bettin all in with them tho, but 9-10 time they dont hold up in all in situations unless u hit a set on the flop. hope this helps

Like all cards (and yes that includes AA and AK) it depends on a few things:
1. Your position. Are you UTG? BB? Button? The position you are in can decide for you sometimes what to do. 2. (assuming you aren't UTG) What action was before you? Raises and limps make it more difficult. 3. What do you know about the players? Are you with true donkeyfish that will go allin with anything hoping to get you off something or are you going to get called down with someone who might even have a set over set situation on you? 4. What do THEY know about YOU??? The most important thing to take into account. If they think you're a loose player they might make a call with a raise and overbet when you make a set, or lord help us the nuts. (Have played for this precise opportunity before though I don't advise it)
Keeping those 4 main questions in mind will greatly increase the value (call raise or fold, yes there is a such thing as fold value) of your cards.
Then again, just my 2 cents :)
