Ring Games or Tournaments?

What to you is the best NL Holdem Experience. The No Limit Cash Game or the No Limit Tournament. Both are exciting games with contrasting styles needed to be successful. Which do you prefer and why do you prefer it over the other?

I like tournaments better because you are competing against a lot of people. That also means it is much harder to win the money. So if you want to win more then you have to play harder competion.

I like tournaments better because everyone is usually trying to play their absolute best and the competition is more intense. Also if you beat a lot of people then it gives your confidence a boost. And theres some good money in it if you win. I think these are the best aspects of the game that cash games don't have. Even so, cash games are still good because even though I think tournaments are better, you need more than a fair share of luck to win one and cash games involve a little bit less luck. Overall, I think tournaments are a little bit better but cash games aren't that far behind because of the slightly lowered "luck factor."

For NL tourneys win hands down, Tourneys put you in the action right away, in a 10person SNG you have to play eventrally cause after 3 or 4 people are out the blinds go up and you pay them more and more often.
But for me the most exciting is Heads up SNG's these ones are action packed, and for a small amount of money they are really fun. I play these whenever i am bored and now if i sit in a ring game ill play too loose, in Heads up you have to be loose so its a good stress reliever win or lose. Also it teaches you valuable short handed experience so when you play a tourney and get to the final few you are comfortable playing there.
people play too tight in ring games and its actually correct to play that tight, so waiting for the nuts is pretty much all you have to do, 25c or 50c a rotation is not going to kill anyones bankroll in a ring game, you can wait for hours, then make a killing. But it is BORING

I prefer tournaments. Simply because you have the excitment of wining it, specialy heads up near the end. You can see alot of stratagies and different techniques, And they are almost always quick things.

Most of the time, I prefer tournaments. I guess they're a better fit for my personality since they're finite, with a defined start, end and winning structure.
Perhaps ironically though, I actually make a fair bit more per hour from ring games.

I prefer tournys .....it allows my style of play to sit back and play the good hands and when we get rid of an overly aggressive player then he cant go to the atm and reload.

At this point in my short poker career I prefer tournaments. I am not yet a good player, so playing against many people allows me the luxury of seeing the many varied hands played. At the same time, this does not hurt my wallet either. Will comment further, a few months from now, when I become a semi-pro (LOL)!!

i'm preferer of tournaments always.. i hate nl games.. i know the big money is out there, but i can't stand the pressure playing on nl games.. you must be ready to risk all your bankroll brought to the table on one hand, and i don't want to do that!.. on tourneys you have chips, you can't lose more than you paid buy-in, and i like to play poker without pressure, examining my hands, and the opponents..
i'll always choose mtts, and s&gs!

I like a combination of both. My basic way to play is to win a certain amount of money playing ring games and then using my winnings for tournament entry fees. I will play both sit and gos and multis. The multis can be a cash drain because you don't always make the cash line. I play differently for each type of game and it does provide a consistent win rate at the lower levels. The great part is if you make the top 5 on a multi.
