04-19-2006, 12:50 PM graven29 Joined on 04-02-2006 Bethel Park, PA Posts 37 A transition from internet to live poker I used to be a HUGE internet poker fan - i mean HUGE, but lately (the last month or so) I have really become more interested in live poker. I play a lot now, and though I was worried about my game, I am more than satisfied with the results. I played in 3 sit n go's at the bar last night, a $10 and two $20 buy ins. I was heads up in every game, and only lost the $10 match up. I made over $300 last night, and I was really on my game. I got the calls when I wanted them, and got the folds when I wanted them. I read people pretty well, and only sucked out one time all in. I thought that internet poker would destroy my live game, but now I don't think that is an issue. There is probably more money to be made (faster) on-line, but I feel that too much is lost, as far as reads and table dynamics go. What does everyone else prefer, live or on-line play? 04-20-2006, 9:37 AM robindeem Joined on 03-04-2006 Posts 180 Re: A transition from internet to live poker Well there are ups and downs to both Graven....I like internet poker because I am home with my kids (no babysitter weeeeeeee) and I can play my nintendo ds or surf the web at the same time as I play so I dont get bored! However I like the challenge of live play and trying to read the other opponents....its amazing how some players are open books just by looking at them hahahaha! I also enjoy live play for the social aspect of it...my dad played in the cardrooms while I was growing up so I have a big reputation in our cardrooms when I do go! Its also nice showing sam a good time and the royal treatment by the comps we get! weeeeeeeeeeee!    Report

The transistion from internet play to live play can be tricky and a bit scary at first but a must for a poker player. Yes playing at home is safe,quiet and you have that nice free food-lol but getting to know the moves and actions of other poker players is priceless. At Foxwoods you get more Comp Points playing Slots than Poker believe it or not so I play slots alot at the Casino and Poker on the Net. If they Ban Internet Poker in the US -The Government wants too we will all have to make the Transistion fast. Shuffle Up and Deal With It Baby!    Report
