New Poker show...Fox Sports Net
Reply Quote
Got an email today noting a new poker showing coming here in a few days. Cut/paste is below:

Calvin Ayre Wild Card Poker, hosted by the billionaire founder and CEO of Bodog.net, will air weekly on FSN (Fox Sports Net) on Saturdays from 11 p.m.-1 a.m. local (all time zones in North America), beginning April 15, 2006.

The only poker game Fox put on that I really enjoyed (to my knowledge) was the live final table event that Phil Ivey won. It was on a 5 minute delay or so? Was very interesting to get to see every hand instead of just the "all ins" that we see in most televised poker.

I saw this on Bodog.net looks like they are going to give ParadisePoker.com and WPT some kind ratings war.
I get most channels but don't think I get this one that's the problem with some cable providers- access

I saw the first episode. The poker is pretty good, and has a couple pros. Josh Arieh and "The Grinder" Mizrachi's wife (or girlfriend)...

Seems to be as much about the Bodog booty lifestyle, as it is about poker though.

David Williams (2004 WSOP main event runner up), talking about the Bodog life, with a harem of four ladies sitting on the couch behind him... ok doky.

I would think it would be a bit offensive to female poker players. It seems to promote the old idea of poker as a man's game and that a woman's place at the poker table is hanging onto a man's elbow, wearing as little as possible in the meantime.

Maybe it was just an eye candy blitz for the first episode. Who knows...
