Smile [:)] How 2 Win A 100-200 Player Tournament!

The main way to win is to play damn good cards! But you also have to take some risk in most tournaments to win the whole thing. Usually for me I have to take risk either half way through the tournament or towards the end. In the beginning it is easier to wait and catch some good cards and to pick your spots than it is in the middle or end of tournament. Your chances of building a good chip stake is in the first hour of a tournament and then after that when the stakes are raised and the betting is much more higher it is very easy to lose all that you worked so hard to get in the first half of tournament. If you struggled to make it to half way or a third of the tournament then more than likely you are on the shorter stake and have to take some risk at that point to double your stake up. By this time in a tournament you aint got the oppurtunity to pick and choose your good hands you have to go with what you are dealt and hope the poker goddess up above will be with you on the almighty flop, turn, & most devestating river! And most of the time when you reach the final table in 200 or so player tournament the blinds are very high and we are definetly picking and chosing are hands wisely on which ones we are going to play. If I am on the low stack I am basically waiting to get lucky or just go all in on a couple of reasonable cards. Because the shorter couple stacks at table is going to get bullied by larger stacks! If you are setting on one of the toip three stacks in final table then you should use your power to your advantage, I dont mean try to bluff on crappy hole cards but to play a little bit looser and aggressive if possible. By no means play stupid, but just push the aggression a little to see where others stand! Good luck everyone and I hope to see some of you at some final tables soon! LOL!

i don't care how lucky you are in the beginning ive seen the biggest stacks knocked out aftr the blinds start hitting thechip count that every one started with. even the lwly short stack can be so much more when the cards turn and you play them the best you can.. the reason i say this is because iv'e been there quite a few times and came back to take 1st

I totally agree with the strategy here. I find i can get an easy double up if i can trap one of the more aggressive players early on in the tournement. Lets face it if you dont know how to trap or find people arent biting then try it different. Later on in the tournement i like to keep a close eye on how big my stack is compared to the blinds, the average stack and the stacks close to the money. I just hope i can last long enough to catch some good cards or a nice flop in the blinds and take advantage of super aggressive play.
