I discussed in a previous post but wanted to get into a little more detail here... In limit hold’em a solid player can expect to have a win rate of 1 big bet per hour playing at a 9-person table. This can increase when you play short handed or on multiple tables. So if you are playing on (3) full $5/10 tables you should make on average (over hundreds of hours of play) about $30 / hour. One big advantage to the online player is the deposit bonuses and rakeback. Even if you are playing break-even poker you will be making money. This is an opportunity that the bricks and mortar casino player doesn’t have. If you are just starting out I would recommend starting at a limit that gives you 250 big bets. With a bankroll of $500 you should start out at the $1/2 table. When you win 100 big bets you can move up to the next level. If you move up and lose those profits drop back down and rebuild.
