If everyone has folded in front of you; I would raise 4 times the big. But that's me trying to not go all in with a pocket pair but rather gamble alittle bit in hopes of a better pay off.

limp and try for a set and if overcards hit then more than likely fold fast

imo,
that's a powerful hand that can be played a couple ways.
if late position i'll try to steal with 4x or 5x BB bet.
if called, and no big cards fall, i'm all in.... if they do and no set... check.. maybe c another card if they will let u c it cheap enough. If not. fold.
if u hit your set against an ace or k on board that others are betting then u have to bet big according to the board of course but u don't want anyone drawing to beat your set.
best i can do with such little information but remember, i'm kinda new to the game.

I have done all of the previous strategies mentioned, depending on the situation. But, for someone fairly new to the game I would suggest limping with any pair less than 10's and raising or calling a raise with 10's J's or Q's and raising or reraising with K's or A's. Far too many people overplay the small to middle pairs and go broke because of it. Since you will only hit your set 1 in 7.6 times and it may be worthless when you do hit, depending on what comes with it, you are rarely getting the right odds to commit much of your stack to these hands at anything but a 3 or less player situation. Good Luck

I don't like an all-in with 99 if it's still early in the tournament. You're trying to accumulate chips, but the blind structure will soon make the pot you just stole worthless. I agree with a 3-5bb raise, or I'd try to flop a set or low cards and play your opponent(s). If you go all-in and are called, you probably don't have a commanding lead, if any.
