$5 Live SNG (6 players)
|
|

First hand, no reads on anybody - get KK in the BB. Stacks are $4000 each and blinds are 25/50. UTG raises to $200 and one caller (CO). My action? (Keep in mind that I will be out of position for the remainder of the hand)
PASS THE SUGAH!!!!

UTG = Under the gun (First to act preflop --> third to act after the flop if the blinds call) --> basically, a BAD position to be in on a lot of hands.
PASS THE SUGAH!!!!

i'd play the hand for $1000.
u prob. just steal the pot which is fine.
if you are called and no ace flops.. i'd check it to get someone to bet then put them all in...
if ace falls and they call your $500 bet after flop. i'd fold.
just my thoughts.

not to sound like a lotto player but id just push em and hope for a caller with maybe a lesser hand that thinks im just pushing...not to mention the bad position.ill race an ace with kk too tho so its a hard call,it is poker and i like the impression that the first hand of any tourney leaves in the tables mind.just depends on the player i guess....

Myself in that place, playing SnG's is all about patience...holding out till the blinds get to lvl 4-6 where your hands mean alot more. I would reraise to 600...if he happens to push his stack in, I would actually consider folding my KK, it's real early in the tourney...there's gonan be alot better situations later on. At early lvl of tourney's, I avoid most all in hands or big hands, I find that in the early lvl's of a tourney, the donkeys who will play ATC and the people that aren't that skilled will end up being knocked out or low stacked by the time the blinds reach lvl 5. Now they are short stacked, so when you wake up with KK later, and they raise it..you can come over the top and push...because your chip stack is bigger and if you do get sucked out on..your not out of the tourney.

In a 6 handed STT, if I think I will get action I will get my money in yesterday morning. GL to whoever calls me. In my opinion the fact that the raiser is UTG and raises to 4x the BB, I can safely assume he has 1010, JJ, or AJ-AK. In all these cases KK is a decided favorite. If this was the first hand of a major MTT, I may be able to lay it down (maybe), but not in a 6 handed STT.
Out of curiosity what site has 4k starting stacks with 25/50 blinds in a 6 handed STT?

So you continue bet if the ace hits, yet slowplay if it dosnt?
I love the 1k bet preflop. I would follow up with another 1k on the flop, I wouldnt even look at the flop before betting. If Im reraised then I look at the flop.
