i usually kind of watch tv but just recently started lixtening to the radio or have nothing on at all.not sure which is helping yet but curious what you all think

well daytime i will have the radio on but at nite the wife sits and watches me play and the tv both so so do i

I like to listen to the radio also watch t.v but I get distracted when I watch t.v so I try not to do it that much.

I find that if I draw or paint I am more relaxed and seem to do better in a game than I would if the TV or radio is on, tried various methods and this seems to work best for me.

I have musicmatch.com downloaded on my computer it's great and free has a mini player so I downloaded some CD music to create my own playlists.
This helps me to get into my game zone-The musicmatch program also has an easy CD burning program which is great!
For those who want to tweak their game www.pokerpages.com,pocketfives.com,cardrunners.com and an internet radio station called live 365 are some of my favorite things to do while playing poker.

I was talking to a friend and he told me that he buy's poker books on audio tape and listens to them while playing, driving, showering, and when ever he can.

While waiting for the top ten hands in the tourney. I pay attention to players betting patterns, how & what they are betting with. I make notes on the players style once I get them pegged. I have found this to work pretty well and have made several final tables lately. I find that listening to music and watching TV will distract you from the game, and you will start missing valuable information on the players that are sitting at the table.

Hmmmm... Let me see. I watch my 10 month old daughter while playing poker. That leaves very little opportunity to do anything else while playing. If she is good, I can play a good game. If she is bad, well..... I guess thats the reason I play low stakes. I can sit out and take care of her.

I will watch t.v. or play the gameboy with my kids while I play poker. I find that it helps me from getting bored, while I wait for a good hand.

This is so true! That's why I switched from standard music to classical. Classical has no words, so it's just a soothing background. Music with words takes my attention away from the table and next thing I know I'm singing along and my timer's are running down on my poker tables, autofolding my hands. ;]

I'm usually playing in more than one game at a time, and also watching tv.
I went out drinking the other night and then came home and played and lost almost $100
That's something you shouldn't do
