On a full table 7's and blow i will try to limp in, and if I don't hit on the flop I will fold to any bet. 8's 9's 10's J's I will raise in later spots and call in early spots. Q's K's A's play strong with full table. 2) Mid way. Now you want to start playing pocket's a little stronger. Still play Q's or better strong. 3) 2 or 3 people left. now you want to play pocket's STRONG. 2's are played like 10's. J's or better play alittle weaker, so you can try to get opponets to put in there money. Just my opinon. Like to hear your's. Poker is not a card game played with people. So if the blinds are cheap I will limp in on early position, and raise in late postion if no one shows any power. But once the blinds are over 100 I will fold small pockets and middle pockets in any position if on a full table. It also depends on if I am on an aggressive table or a passive table. I will not play small or middle pockets on an aggressive table, just because I know I will be killed if I dont hit a set on flop. But as far as a passive table goes I will try and steal as many chips as I can and I feel like I can represent any hand on a passive table, so even if I dont hit a set I could still scare them out of the pot.    Report

Flop JQK and you hold Q10 you have a draw and mid pair Flop 7 5 2 and you ahve pp6 Two completely different situations where you would hav eto play completely different. Assuming you only play hands that are decent, you'll either be holding a PP, A rag suited (down to 8ish?) and Any 2 10+ cards. This means if you hit mid pair, you are probably going to still want to check these hands. Position- depends on your reads, your opponents, and your oppenets ability to slowplay lol....bet it normally, try to take blinds, or get people off draws. First to act- check/fold Mid table- Check....call small bet Thats what I'd do....and for god's sake, unless you are LAST to act...dont waste your damn time betting this unless you have like KK and a flop hits A104 and you want to rep an ace...    Report

If I feel good about the hand and the rest of the field is send messages pointing to a possible win for me I dive in fully and go for it. I also believe blinds are a good enough payoff in some situations and large bets prior to the flop sometimes will capture them. sonic    Report

I'd only call a decent raise (4-5x bb) with tens. Depending on if I'm last I'd call with the rest. Always curious to see if I can make trips or be fortunate enough to still have an overpair when the board comes.    Report

I like to see a flop when I have a pp. There is nothing worse than laying down 44 and seeing J47 come on the flop. I try not to overplay low pp's unless the other players are looking weak. Middle pairs I usually will see to the turn and then bet unless the turn card flops higher than my pp. High pocket pairs I like to bet and continue the bet on flop and turn, fire once fire twice, fire three times.    Report

If it's full ring then generally you want to see the flop as cheap as possible from early to mid position. If I'm in the HJ/CO or on the button then I'm going to raise with any pair when entering the pot, yes, even ducks. But that pretty much applies to any hand you're going to play in late position when it folds around. Never limp in late position when it folds to you! If it's 6 max then you can open with any pair from any position. I would even 3-bet weaker opponents with position with 99-77 on occasion just to mix it up a bit. Mid to small pairs are played for set value in most cases. A few good things to remember when playing them is that stack sizes and pot odds are key. But mostly stack sizes. You'll flop a set nearly one out of every eight times (7.5:1) with any pocket pair. So for playing them to be profitable, your opponent's stack must be deep enough for them to cover the spread. If the opening bet you have to call is $1, then you'll have to take $8 from your opponent to cover those times you check/folded the flop the times you missed your set. Your opponent must have at least that much to make the call worth it. But even then I'd prefer they were deeper. Generally if it's heads up and I'm facing a raise, I would only call it if my opponent had at least 80% of the max buy-in. In multi-way pots preflop I'm willing to reduce my requirements for calling raises since there's more money in the pot on the flop and it's easier to cover the spread at that point.
