What do you consider a good bluffing ratio? 1 in 10 times? 1 in 100? Maybe you only like to bluff with a draw.... Perhaps just straight cold bluffs....Tell us what works for you.

Apparantly SEALIFE understands the proper way to bluff. Sea reraised me three times in the WEEE are Family Freeroll showing a best hand of q/4os...later I caught a queen on the flop with king kicker when he bet I shoved all in. Silly me....Sea was holding Pocket kings....Good Hand Sea and way to set me up.

I just like to wait for someone to show weakness. Then i go for the heavy bluff.

I sometimes feign weakness with a strong hand to induce a bluff. I get paid off quite a bit by checking after the river card in hopes that it helped my opponent's hand. I'll check-raise them just enough after they bet that it'll be almost impossible for them to get away from the hand.
Then again, sometimes that bluff ends up connecting at the river, and what was once 5 high now has become a flush or straight.

i really don t like to start bluffing in tournaments to after the blinds have increased enough to be valuable...in limit i will bluff when a formidable flop hits and it is checked around to me

seems to be the only way I place in a tourney is by placing a few well timed bluffs. Seems to me that a little advertising (show only your strong hands and play tight) goes a long way after some time. They respect you, and depending on the limits, make big laydowns.

Omelet, I think your on to something there, especially for single table tourneys where the players all stay the same. If you can show down good hands early, it'll help you pull off a few bluffs when you need them the most.... bubble time.
I think bubble time (when you're getting really close the money) is one of the best times to bluff those medium sized chip stacks that are trying to blind their way into the money. Bluffing a large stack can be risky unless you've got an equally large stack. Bluffing a small stack can be risky as well, since they're looking to double up with any decent hand.

i am never really able to bluff in tourney play because i always get called.i do find it much more sucsessful in cash games tho what does everyone think???

I would assume you'd be more successful in cash games, because those are real dollars the players are dealing with, as opposed to just chips.
Bluffing would work better in tournaments with high buy-ins, or when you're getting close to the money. Early in a tourney though, and especially in freeroll and low buy-ins, players are very difficult to bluff off a hand...they just don't have much to lose.

Oh bluffing is where I get in trouble. As most people that play with me know I'm not a bluffer. Sometimes I'm to transparent. I tend to play to tight. I need to loosen up lol.

I'm not much into bluffing yet either. I'm still learning the game and figure I lose enough on hands I thought should win! hehehe

I like to do my bluffing when the blinds are high, getting close to the money (where players tighten up), and on the cutoff...one from the button. I think that bluffing at the button is not as efficient as the cutoff because players think that raising from the button is a common bluff move~!

I like to do most of my bluffing from an early position. most times when someone raises from 2 or 3 spots from the button players put them on something strong. this is a tricky move tho. you have to have a real feel for the table. you have to be able to tell if the player or players behind you are chasing or have a middle hand. it,s all about watching patterens. This play is mostly used by the more aggresive plays.

Bluffing? What's that? Lol. I am NO good at bluffing. I am very efficient at bluffing a winning hand to keep people in the pot and if they stay in then I go for the kill after the river when my opponent thinks they have me beat. So as far as my ratio, I might bluff once in a million.
