Yeah let's not be silly just cuz your AA lost a few times
Have you counted all the times you won with it?
Usually they get lost among a slew of memories of high flushes and river 2 pr suckouts and runner runner boats and the more exciting hands to watch win.

AA just is always expected to be a winner so when it loses it is tragic.

Lets face it though.. .it's only a pair.. Big it big, Bet it early. It IS, however, not a good hand to push all in with AFTER you let everyone limp in to catch a good draw or made hand on the flop. Play your AA, just don't make it invincible in your head.

I agree with the other two posts. AA is a good hand if played right. If you are going to go all in do it at the beginning preflop probably is the best. That way you weed out the ones who have say 4 7 off suit and decide to call a big bet and then run with it until they catch a flush. Just as any hand though it can lose. That is why it is called Poker.

Man that makes no sense at all, your goal as a poker player is to get someone to go all-in with you on pocket Aces. This is just stupid advice, just because you suffered a bad beat don't try an think this or get this attitude. There is always a chance that aces can get cracked, but hey ill take the odds of going up against any other hand anytime.

I agree, that is just absolutlt crazy to believe that! I have been beat quite a few times with AA, but a lot of the times I played them wrong. I also have won quite a few times with AA! I believe pocket bullets should not be played slow most of the time and that there is a time that pocket aces could even be folded before the flop. If three or four people go allin before you then more then likely you are going to lose the bigger part of the time. Of course it is hard for anyone to lay down pocket bullets especially before the flop, but it just depends where you are and how much it is going to cost you if you are goiung to lose, if it is going to bust you or put you out of a tournament where you are close to being in the money then it might be a good idea to lay them down if there is three or four already fully committed in the pot! At least that is the way I see it!

no doubt your gonna take some badbeats with them, but they still win the majority of the time . the most important part is knowing how to play them and bet with them , the slow play usually will burn you alot of the time .

I would much rather hear you say DONT GO ALL IN WITH AK. Thats the one that kills me. I see soo many people with big stacks push all in with AK. It's a good hand but it seems a lot of people think its the golden hand. I have lost more with AK than I ever have with AA.
ok, I am done venting...lol

There are times you should not go all in with aces, but generally preflop you are ahead. I would not call two all in bets in front of me especially if one of the raisers has my stack covered and it would put me OOT if I lost the hand. In a cash game I am all in preflop every time, in any position against any amount of raisers. You have to put your money in when you are ahead. Winning these hands makes up for all the times when you play correctly and are sucked out by someone who does not know how to play and won't fold.

1. What do you mean by "generally" you're ahead preflop? Unless your opponent has AA as well, you're always ahead.

2. The only time you should not be looking to get all-in preflop with aces is in certain MTT satellite situations.

3. I would be delighted to see two all-ins before me when I had AA, ring or MTT (other than certain satellite situations). If it's a ring game then you're in a +ev situation in the long run. If you lose then reload. If it's in a MTT, play to win.

My point was that no hand is a 100% certainty. Each situation has to be evaluated seperately. Going all in when your stack is covered in a tournament is accepting only 2 possible outcomes, advancement or bankruptcy. It will be impossible to win the tournament on this particular hand since your stack is covered. It is quite possible that you will be eliminated. If the hand does not improve postflop any hand higher than one pair wins. Why risk your entire tournament on one hand. I would rather push with a made hand which is nuts or near nuts on the turn.
